Dance In Worship Workshops
Currently Alison is
so busy with her musical activities that she does not teach a
regular dance class. However, do visit this page again soon for
possible future dates of classes and workshops in Contemporary
Dance, and also in PrayerDance, Ali's own form of Contemporary
Contemplative Dance.
If you want to book Ali to do a Dance in Worship or
PrayerDance workshop at your church then contact Ali

Training...
Alison
started her movement training in 1986, studying
Expressive Mime and Movement with Adam Darius
and Kazimir Koleznik at the London Mime Centre.
From 1996-98, she took various courses from the
Dance Foundation Programme at Kensington and
Chelsea College, where she studied with
different teachers including Jo Ellison, and
also Filip Van Hufel, of Retina Dance Company.
In 1998 Alison studied at the Laban Centre,
London, graduating with a Professional Diploma
in Dance Studies in 1999.
For a
brief period, Ali taught at the Cambridge
Theological Federation, looking at Dance in
Worship from both a practical and theoretical
perspective. She also taught GCSE Dance at a
Cambridgeshire School. She has taught dance at
Stagecoach Kenilworth, and at a Contemporary
Dance after-school club with students from
Henley-in-Arden High School.
Ali first starting doing yoga
seriously when living in Bedford and taking classes with Rosie
Wright. Now in Birmingham she does classes in Leela Hot Yoga at
Yogahaven Birmingham, Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow at Virgin Active
Solihull, and in Vini Yoga at Tanworth in Arden Village Hall. She
intends to study yoga in more depth with a view to teaching in the
hopefully not too distant future.
